Adobe Acrobat 3D update

This free downloadable executable contains several updated dynamic link libraries (DLLs) that provide support for more recent versions of CAD file formats when using Adobe Acrobat 3D and the Acrobat 3D Toolkit. It also fixes a number of bugs related to CAD format import in Acrobat 3D.

Installation Instructions

After downloading a ".exe" file in Windows, double-click on the ".exe" file to access the file's contents.

This update requires that Acrobat 3D 7.0.8 or Acrobat 3D 7.0.7 Trial is installed on your system. To determine which version of Acrobat 3D you have currently installed, choose Help > About Acrobat 3D. The version number appears in the upper left corner below the Acrobat logo.

Updating from Acrobat 3D version 7.0.7
If you are updating a purchased copy of Acrobat 3D, you may be asked to use the standard Acrobat update mechanism to update your existing Acrobat 3D installation to version 7.0.8.
In order to update to version 7.0.8, choose Help > Check for Updates Now and follow the instructions.
Note: This procedure is not required for the 7.0.7 trial version.

Updating from Acrobat 3D version 7.0.8
If you have version 7.0.8 installed, download and install the update. Please choose the Save option when starting your download.
Save the file to a convenient location on your hard drive. After downloading the ".exe" file in Windows, double-click the file to start the update.

Updating from Acrobat 3D 7.0.85 or 7.0.86
If you recently downloaded and installed the 7.0.85 or 7.0.86 update, please follow these instructions before installing this update.
1. Delete both 3D plug-ins folders from the following locations:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\plug_ins3d C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\3D Toolkit\Plugins.
2. Launch the Control Panel from the Start button located on the lower left of your screen.
3. Select Add/Remove Programs.
4. Scroll down the list of applications until you locate Adobe Acrobat 3D.
5. Select Change/Remove, and when the dialog box appears, click Next.
6. Click Repair and follow the rest of the instructions to complete the repair.

This process may require restarting your computer. Once the repair has completed successfully, follow the instructions above for "Updating from Acrobat 3D version 7.0.8."
